Tours
Thank you for your interest in visiting the NEADS (National Education for Assistance Dog Services) National Training Campus, organized by Canines for Disabled Kids.
Schedule a tour for group or for yourself, which includes demonstrations of a variety of styles of assistance dogs, providing a better understanding about life with a disability and some of the tools to help overcome the challenges this brings.
One guide is assigned to each increment of up to 20 people, when possible groups are broken down as small as 10 people to 1 guide. If your group is larger than this please divide your group into sections before arriving. This will help the tour to start on time.
With advance notice, we are prepared to handle tours for groups of up to 100.
We hold tours rain or shine.
Since these tours feature our trainers during their workday, please do not arrive earlier than 15 minutes before your tour is scheduled to begin.
If you are concerned about school cancellations, please be advised we plan to be here and are not aware of your cancellation or delay. Please contact the office if this affects your tour.
Your tour will be held in the NEADS wheelchair accessible facility, which includes viewing both hearing dogs and service dogs being trained.
You will see a demonstration of a working team with a question and answer period.
Funds raised by tours help Canines for Disabled Kids to sponsor children receiving assistance dogs.
Some of the dogs seen on your tour may be in training for a child receiving these funds.
Tours are scheduled by appointment. It is recommended for the most activity on campus to schedule a 10:00 AM start time Mondays – Fridays.
